New programs help position Colorado as healthiest state in the nation

In 2011 Colorado ranked the 9th healthiest state in the region, a strong position but one brought down by poor rankings among key indicators of health. In an effort to address Colorado’s need for targeted improvements, the Colorado School of Public Health is launching two specializations within its master of public health program, health services research and maternal and child health.

Collaboration with APHL brings million dollar focus to newborn screening

The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) and the Colorado School of Public Health at the University of Colorado, will develop and manage the Newborn Screening Technical Assistance and Evaluation Program (NewSTEPs) under a five-year, $4.1 million cooperative agreement from the Genetics Services Branch of the U.S. Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
