A message from Interim Dean Judith Albino

Interim Dean Judith Albino, PhD

Dear colleagues and friends,

As faculty, students, alumni, staff and community partners of the Colorado School of Public Health, we are poised to take our next step as a collaborative venture. The appointment of Dr. David Goff as our next dean represents an exciting conclusion to the leadership transition that began in fall 2010.  From the initial, outstanding leadership of Founding Dean Richard Hamman, through my term as Interim Dean, and now as we hand the reins of leadership to Dr. Goff, I am pleased to say that our school and three universities have remained committed to the future and success of our collaboration.

David Goff joins CSPH from Wake Forest University School of Medicine where he currently presides as Chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Prevention. He has established and continues an important research program in cardiovascular epidemiology and is an outstanding academic leader. I am confident that this experience will translate into a successful era of growth and accomplishment for our School.

It has been an honor to serve as Interim Dean for CSPH.  I will continue to serve in this position until Dr. Goff assumes his new role on June 1. My top priority during the next two months will be to ensure a smooth transition for our students, faculty and programs.

Although none of us can predict the future with certainty, I firmly believe that the future for CSPH is bright.  We will continue efforts to define our strengths, develop a strategic plan, and increase our reputation for excellence in public health education, research and practice. And although we welcome wholeheartedly the guidance of outstanding new leadership, we will thrive and succeed in our endeavors, first and foremost, because we are committed to working together.

Thank you for your individual and collective contributions to advancing our mission.

Warmest regards,

Judith Albino, PhD
Interim Dean
